	THE CONCEPT

I went back to the essence of what Elspeth believed the agency would do – amplify voices of artists with open and honest storytelling and provide young creators the framework to promote their music in their own way. 
I did a lot of research into heraldry (a broad term for the design and meaning behind crests and coat of arms) and&#38;nbsp;then developed the idea of the ‘blank crest’.&#38;nbsp;The concept of the crest is to represent&#38;nbsp;Artists’ Way providing a framework (guidance, valuable insight and the tools) for creators to promote their music in their own way.

	THE CONCEPT

After talking with Andrew and understanding his process, it was clear that we needed to show the connection between people and the change they go through. &#38;nbsp;
I simplified ‘people’ to a dot – which could be seen literally (birds eye view), or as a ‘head count’ in data. It was important that the journey wasn’t linear, but instead showed change of direction, up’s and downs.
The result is a combination of a brave client, the perfect font and some lush colours reflective of&#38;nbsp;office layouts from the 1950s (Mad Men and Queen's Gambit era).

	THE CONCEPT

After being distracted by trying to draw the perfect motherly bird with big hugging arms, I switched tack.&#38;nbsp;
I wanted the brand to be trustworthy and reflective of an organised environment, not just cute. I also wanted to create a recogniseable identity that had a real concept behind it to make Mama Bird stand out from a very gentle landscape.&#38;nbsp;
The end result is a combination of both the nest and the home, to form a sort of badge that represents the stellar service that Mama Bird provides.&#38;nbsp;

	THE NAME

The brief was to come up with a name that was linked to haulage,&#38;nbsp;contemporary, memorable and slightly out of the norm. 
It should roll off the tongue and convey the ‘experience with a difference and honest’ values of the company.&#38;nbsp;




Hauldog is inspired by the hard-working, reliable farm dogs that are common place in Central Otago. The name was sold with the idea of a brand that would have high levels of personality as well as performance.&#38;nbsp;

DESIGN DECISIONS

All three newsletters needed a design overhaul.&#38;nbsp;
My advice was to do the following things:
• Shorten emails by providing highlight content and direct readers to fleshed out stories hosted on their website.• After consulting with Data analyst Sara Parish, I advised a them to segment their audience and consider optimising content based on segmentation. i.e. send business owners different content to someone in the early stages of a business idea.
• Have a consistent header across all three newsletters, but with an ownable colour palette.
• ‘Chunk’ the content to make it easier for readers to ‘scroll and stop’. This was acheived by header images and dividing lines.
• Introduce brand font
• Encourage FWDing to a friend, subscribing and click through driving more traffic to the website.
• Introducing elements such a ‘read time’ and ‘what to expect’ to give the reader an idea of how much of their precious time we would be using.
• Use imagery &#38;amp; illustration to divide and add fun to content.&#38;nbsp;

	Voices of Ireland is a new-age choir, with a discernible youthful energy and distinctive flair led by it’s director, Desmond Early.

BRIEF
Create an identity for the choir that reflected their sophisticated tone and stood out from the fairly underdeveloped landscape of choral brands.&#38;nbsp;
SOLUTIONThe end result is a dramatic and engaging identity that incorporates typographic elements and colour that reflects a modern Irish brand. The depth and dynamic appearance are a tribute to how the music makes you feel.&#38;nbsp;

THE CONCEPT

My challenge with the branding was was to create something that reflected Irish music and literature, without falling into the clichés of Celtic signals. 
I started by researching celtic fonts and recreating the elements I found intriguing in the letters of the typeface.
The final logo is a unique typeface design with subtle hints towards celtic serifs. The central ‘S’ was added later in the design process to connect the dynamic enthusiasm of a conductor directing his choir.&#38;nbsp;

I’m a senior conceptual designer/design lead whose aim is to bring your ideas to life – no matter the state, size or sensibility rating. I do this by using my childlike enthusiasm (asks many questions) and unrestrained imagination (has many ideas) to get under the skin of a brief and create something that elevates, and is authentic to what made you excited about it in the first place.Growing up with a father who is blind 👁 and told bedtime stories that made me squeal like a mandrake 

















helped to create 



 an unrestrained imagination, a fear of the dark and the ability to look at the world from a very different and descriptive perspective. It translates that I put huge value in copywriting, and combined with intriguing design know that this is the way to build a compelling brand story that people love and trust.I find strength in being unique and look for ways to inject it into my designs. My most recent permanent role was at a data-led creative agency where I learnt to translate data into insights and insights into great design that had both integrity and a sense of fun. I know first-hand that to engage with a customer – you must first understand what drives them and then provide value (or make them smile 😀️)With a main focus on graphic design, art direction and brand development, I create both printed and digital matter. I analyse the purpose and reach of everything I make with an enduringly cheerful manner and hate producing content for contents’ sake.I love finding a balance of colour, typography and imagery that immediately sparks joy and understanding in the viewer. I’m particularly interested in the FemTech and Tech for Good space and am available for commissions, collaborations and consultancy, specialising in graphic design, creative direction, illustration, branding and visual identity design and development.
